Terms of Service

Agreement

By creating a HowFar account or using howfar.space, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. HowFar is operated by HowFar Labs Ltd.

Who can use HowFar

HowFar is for students and staff connected to tertiary institutions. You must be at least eighteen years old, or the minimum age of legal capacity where you live, to hold an account.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the school, department and level you add to your profile.

Your account

Keep your account credentials to yourself. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account.

Do not impersonate another person, an institution, or a HowFar staff member.

Submitting someone else's photo, a forged image or any false data is impersonation and will get the request rejected and may attract legal action.

Conduct

Do not harass, threaten or abuse other people. Do not post content that is unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringes someone else rights.

Do not use HowFar to send bulk unsolicited messages, run scams, or distribute malware.

Do not scrape the service or attempt to access accounts, data or systems you are not authorised to access.

Marketplace

Listings are posted by users. HowFar is not a party to any transaction, does not hold funds, does not verify goods, and does not arrange delivery.

Sellers are responsible for describing items accurately and for complying with the law. Buyers are responsible for inspecting items before payment.

Do not list prohibited items, including weapons, controlled substances, stolen goods, counterfeit products, academic misconduct services, or anything else prohibited by applicable law.

Content you post

You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a licence to host, store and display that content so the service can operate.

You are responsible for having the right to post what you post, including any images or documents you share.

Moderation and termination

We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms, that harm other users, or that put the service at risk.

You may delete your account at any time from within the app.

Service availability

HowFar is provided as it is. We work to keep it available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and features may change or be withdrawn.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, HowFar Labs Ltd is not liable for losses arising from transactions between users, from content posted by users, or from your use of the service.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
